Question About The One
« on: January 24, 2006, 01:33:45 PM »
With all the games on the one, has anyone seen a loss of reaction due to all the oil absorbed?  Was curious with as fast as it absorbs if anyones noticed a change in reaction due to it.  Moslty a question for the people who have used this ball for a while now.

I want to get the Road Hawg but am a little skeptical about having it die too soon.

This is a really good question that i dont think anyone has brought up yet.

From what i have seen from 1 person, who is a 220+ avg bowler and has extrem knowledge of the game, has been throwing The One for 4 months now. We bowl together every saturday on a house shot that has 3-4 hrs of house bowling on it. She (a lefty) rips the rack every single week. From what ive seen, she can play her normal down and in-up 7 board shot, but wasnt able to hook the lane more because her ball wouldnt come back. The last few weeks though, she has been playing third arrow out to 10. This is the first time ive ever accually seen her play that deep and score well. She got a bit of track into the ball, and the coverstock soaked in some oil, and this ball has really increased hook and break point.

guys, I think the One, along w/ the Dynothane Soaker cover sucks up oil but the cover has an additive in it that dissipates the oil as well, or breaks it down

THe guy that runs our pro shop on base has been bowling with his The One since November. He bowls in 4 different leagues plus practices about 30 games a week. He has been using virtually nothing else since then. He is trying to see how long it will last. He has had multiple 750+ highest being 792 with it. He has not cleaned it or changed the surface from factory except to remove belt marks. He plans on buying a second one to mess with the surface of the first one. I am liking my Lane #1 stuff but have been seriously pondering getting one and trying it out. I haven't used an Ebonite since I got rid of my V2 Solid.

Hello all, so far so good with mine. It's been almost 2 months since I've purchased it. I've had it in box surface for about 3 weeks, then tweaked the cover and it's now at approximately 800 grit.

I love mine and hoping to add another one soon.
If you're curious about it, I have videos of The One in my profile.

Take it easy everyone,
Ram

Rammer, why not just get the Big One and then keep a slight shine on the original?

Jeff, how's it goin'? I am definitely looking into the "Big One."
Hopefully they will have it at the Demo Days when I get to Vegas next
week.

I'm receiving another "The One" at the TAT Megabucks in Vegas. (The TAT (check out trueamateurtournaments.com) is giving you "The One," with your paid entry.)

Sorry for the mini hi-jack bowler247, but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Ebonite has had this rep for years.  thats why they came out with that hook-again BS system that didnt work.  Hammer is the same way, ball will work great for 2 weeks then will be dead.

To which Hammer balls are you referring? I have 4 older models from Hammer(Ebonite owned) and they all are quite lively still.
