Challenge
« on: March 26, 2013, 05:13:41 PM »

Anyelse having problems with their challenge dying after about 50 games? I clean it after each use with clean n dull and put a fresh 2000 on it. Starts ok but after warm up it just does not have what it still had after 40 games. My red mission after over 300 games now hits better. I even did a 360/500/1000/2000, but did not help.

Had to polish mine, too much hook. Would suggest 500, 1000,1000, 3000.

Brought mine to a local pro shop that has the Tidal Wave machine, after about six weeks of use, the Tidal Wave restored the ball very well where it was close to the original reaction.

i agree with 30clean. 50 games is plenty for the ball to get oil soaked. have it get rejuvenated with a revivor, tidal wave or with the hot water/dishwasher method

Tried a 20 sec to 4 sides with 360 with a new 360 and a lot of pressure and then just a 2000. This brought it back to life. Surface seemed to be a little harder than my other equipment. Going to leave in pro shop to see how much oil was absorbed thus far as reaction may not last very long.

I think some bowlers get confused on whether it is true cover stock death or if the cover itself is using too much energy on the given lane condition and lane surface  you are bowling on.  The Challenge has a very strong coverstock.  You need quite a bit of oil in the front part of the lane for the ball to show it's true performance.  Just a thought before you go and start resurfacing the cover to try and bring the ball back to life.  May I recommend the new Champion!!  :)

After oil extraction, reaction is back to almost new again. Oil machine is also getting the back ends a little cleaner as they had a slight problem in cleaning.
