Challenge??
« on: November 07, 2012, 10:04:15 AM »
Threw this ball a couple weeks ago, and still can't confirm wether this ball is a solid, pearl, or a hybrid. Any that can confirm which it is?

And to go along with this, am I wrong in thinking this is one of the more confusing things about the brand right now? Even when you go to the website its hard to tell alot of times just what kind of cover is on their stuff, why make it so hard to find out? There are still folks out there who like to know just what kind of cover they are buying, I realize they use alot of blends, but still.

I like that they post the name of the cover, just tell us in that area pearl, solid, or hybrid, I like to know and im sure Im not alone in the confusion, it doesnt have to be that hard!

Are there others who feel this way? Or am I the only one lol....

I really like Ebonite but I think it's a miss in the marketing of the new equipment to exclude the cover material (e.g. pearl, hybrid or solid).

Ebonite goes through phases in my mind (the consumer) theyre either hot or cold, anything but consistent.  Look at the generations of equipment..they killed off the mission after the red one single handedly won everyone over to.come back to ebonite. Hammers losing their flair as well..track is the only one on the right track lol.  Ebos clearly not focused on what they supposedly do best.  Its their loss not ours...if they wanna build a brand where the marketing screams, "hey buy this ball, we got it right this time, versus, "hey we got it right almost every time"...then let them...i know where im spending my money.  too many other brands do it right.

Agree to disagree there, overall I'd say the last few years C300 out of the four brands leads the pack in terms of a brand that was under that was brought back to life.

They stuck to what worked over the years, creating the Freeze line that utilizes a proven core from the past with a cover that matches it just right, then worked up from there.

Ebonite is not far off, it's little things with them for me....like the info on the site. I think the Cyclone series is the best ball in that price range of any company by far. The website should have everything a customer could ask as far as info, clearly stated so no customer has to question what they are buying.

Second, an upgrade to the way they do videos, they need to only look at what C300 and Hammer do on their videos...they need a variety of different styles throwing their gear on the vids, all due respect but I nor very many throw the ball like Tommy Jones, he can hook anything. With that said, get younger bowlers in there to target a younger audience, it can be done C300 did it a few years back.

Ok back on topic lol, solid, pearl or hybrid??

Im not sure this new cover falls into any of those categories
It me similar to one or the other, maybe a combination of both

With technology changing the way that it is and how quickly it changes
I do not believe they can simply put it in one of those categories

Im not 100% sure of this, but I thought I heard something about this when I did the factory tour of the EBO facilities a few weeks ago
