Saw this ball on Ebonite's site this morning but now it's gone. Looks like a pearl version of the Challenge except they modifed the core. Changed the mass bias from .017 to .007 changed the RG and Diff slightly.

I'd be happy if I never heard about it again. Ebonite International releases too many balls as it is...

Everyone releases a lot of stuff.....that being said SEND ME ONE! lol
Love my challenge

I attended a First Blood seminar last week. Jeff spent more than a half hour talking about pro shop marketing strategies. In other wordss... they know they aren't selling as much as they used to but they still aren't slowing down.

IMO Ebonite needs to quit screwing around with the asymmetrics that have such low intermediate diffs. Once you get below .009 the ball acts so much like a symmetric it isn't even worth calling an asymmetric. So why go to the extra added expense?
Put more "distance" between the balls in the line and stop the overlap...Cyclones, a mid-price offering and the high end...that's all you need!!!!
Trim the fat and only give us what we need.

The reason they dropped the intermediate diff to .007 is so that it would be more driller friendly. I think it is a good move personally.

I kind of like the idea of balls having their PSA strength around the magic Mo marker: .008". That's the point where he said you should/must consider the MB to get a true reaction. You can ignore it and treat the ball like a symmetric or you can put the MB in the thumb hole or add a P3 or a P4 weigh thole and increase the intermediate differential to much more significant territory

Ebonite still makes bowling balls? I thought they stopped after the 250k, oh, wait.......
-
The new Track 503A looks like a good ball. The Challenge...I dunno. The video showed some nice continuation, so I'm genuinely curious.

Be a champion, Kevin!
-
Have two on the way.
-
Looking forward to this ball!!! Love the innovate but sometimes I just need a little more from a pearl, this ball should fit the bill!! Should have my two Friday and I can't wait!!!

For those of you who are getting the Champion in, could you compare it to a polished up Challenge?
One of the things I was a bit disappointed with on with the video was that there wasn't an overlay shot of the Champion vs. the Challenge. Obviously this is a Pearl ball, but with TJ's comments on the Challenge and being able to have no bogging down and having two balls punched up the same and one polished, I was wondering about the ball movement between that polished up Challenge vs. the Champion.
This also has be debating between getting a polished up Challenge, Champion, or First Blood to complement the Challenge I have, especially when it comes to broken down lanes.

Got mine today.

So what do you guys think about the Champion?

I think Ebonite could have waited until Bowl Expo to release it. I don't think my local shop has drilled one yet.
Very hard to compete with the popularity of the First Blood and IQ Tour Pearl.

I had a Champion drilled up a few days ago. I don't know why, other than it was sitting on the shelf in the proshop, I was offered a great deal, and I got caught up in a "what the hell" moment.
I hadn't bought an Ebonite ball in close to 10 years, so this was new territory for me. Anyway, I can honestly say I can't remember having so much fun throwing a ball. On fresh with oil in heads, you can throw straight up the boards with a quick aggressive left turn at the break. Alternatively, I can move fairly deep and have perfect confidence in recovery.
I've seen a lot of IQ Tour Pearls thrown, and while it's an impressive ball, I believe the Champion is a notch up. I know Ebonite mindset has gone into the tank, but this ball is the real deal. If bowlers give it a chance, it will become popular.

Even though The Champion is Pearl, this ball's performance is SOLID.
