Champion vs. IQ Tour Pearl
« on: April 11, 2013, 10:03:42 AM »
Hi everyone,

I currently have an IQTP and am looking for another ball to add.  The champion seems like a good ball, but is it too similar to the IQTP?  If not, what difference can I expect from the Champion?

Thanks.

Champion should be earlier and a little bit smoother off the spot than the gold nugget.

+1 on that, plus due to the difference in flare, the Champion should be much less susceptible to carrydown, plus due to the asymmetric core, you have more potential drillings to shape the desired ball reaction.

I wouldn't treat the Champion as a asymetric, treat it like a symetric, it's internal diff is so low that it's basically a symetrical ball. But the flare will make it a more usable ball as the lanes transition.

While its UNDRILLED PSA is .007", once drilled, it's PSA will almost certainly increase above the sensitive point of .008".

I've drilled 4 of them and the putting them in the blue print software only one has increased over, most stay the same. The closer I've seen the mb to the thumb hole in the program, for myself, have increased it quite a bit, .018. It's possible to get it there just need to play with it.
