Got inside info from a staffer that this is the next release in the One series. Supposedly earlier than the current One. Thats all I know right now.

Anybody else heard this?  I had heard that it was "The Big One", but also earlier than the original One.  I for one think that would be outstanding, if you can get a strong midlane read, and keep at least some of the backend of The One, I think there'd be another winner coming from Hopkinsville.

As an aside/hijack, has anyone (i'm sure someone has...) drilled The One with layout #2 or #3 from the Ebonite site, with the intention of attempting to have an earlier move but still keep some of the backend motion?  If so, how has it worked out and what surface prep did you use?  I was thinking of trying layout #2 with a prep of either 1000 abralon or 1500 (white scotchbrite) and just wanted to see if anybody else has had any luck with it.

I went with drill number 2 and left the surface as it is so far. Ball still revs up nicely and tips over in the back. After observing many bowlers pin up Ones look like they went too long and hit too light. Dont get me wrong, they still stike with pin up drills but I thought it would be too long for my game.

I went with #3 as most of my equipment is already in this pattern.  Kept the ball in box condition.  I believe that if the company puts the ball in a certain coverstock condition that they know what they are doing.  I have bowled nothing short of 650 - 720+ with this ball in 5 weeks in league (I got this ball early in a drilling seminar).  But to put the icing on the cake, the pro shop has drilled probably over 6 to 10 of these and they want them driilled "like she has it".  One is even being plugged and redrilled within a week because it was not like I had it.
