Gamebreaker or Cell???
« on: March 13, 2008, 12:59:03 PM »
I'm looking for a ball that will be able to handle heavy oil. I've thrown nothing but Ebonite for the last five years, but the coverstocks are really starting to tick me off!!! Any help would be appriciated. This will be the ball I buy before I go to Nationals.

I have both balls and the Cell is way stronger than the Gamebreaker. The Gamebreaker is not for heavy oil at all. It more for medium lane conditions. The cell needs oil and the pin carry is awesome. By the way I'm a tweener. Get the Cell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd go with the gamebreaker. It isn't quite as strong as the cell, but IMO will handle the oil volume at nationals better than the cell.Especially during doubles and singles, you probably won't need a ball as strong as the cell.

these are 2 way different balls both good but the cell is a much stronger ball and more versatile because the shot you would use the gamebreaker on you could use the cell ,but i dont think the same can be said if you flip it. the gamebreaker will not handle the oil the cell will, but th cell can easily be used for the lighter side of medium with hand and shot adjustments

The gamebreaker is more of a smooth rolling continous ball.  The cell is more roll and flip on the backend.

Although the GameBreaker is a V2 cored The One covered ball, it has the same defects as the One, if you don't keep up cleaning it after every session, it will absorb oil and become a Dud, the Cell is a Good but not a great Heavy oil ball, it's more suited to Medium - Heavy oil patterns and it will polish itself if you don't keep re-sanding it, so in my opinion, look into a 900 Global Break or a Visionary Frankie May Gryphon or even a Attitude Shift by Storm as these balls will live up to the hype! Until Ebonite pulls it's collective head out of it's butt and makes a GameBreaker with a Light to Medium Particle load cover, Ebonite should not be looked too for a Heavy oil ball since they dumped the Big Time!

I would not say either of them. I would go with an Attitude Shift or a Secret Agent... They work great on heavy oil
