Closest replacement for Gamebreaker
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:16:44 PM »
Since I can no longer get my hands on another Gamebreaker, what would be the next closest ball?

Pursuit-S with a 5"+ pin to axis distance.  This ball is awesome and it has the same motion as a game breaker for me but I can go at least 5 left with the Pursuit-S

What weight do you use, edward? I know of a pro shop that has one. Can talk to the person.

I think that the Gamechanger would be a good option. With surface adjustment,I think you could get closer to the Gamebreaker's reaction. Bowlingball.com has them for $95 with free shipping.

Guy on my team had 2 gamebreakers and now has two game changers and says that that ball is closest he's seen to the gamebreaker.

I ended up drilling an Endure practically identical to my Gamebreaker and it is extremely close, so far.  I'm happy with my choice so far, but I'll have a better feel and look after a few more sets with it.  Hope this info helps someone else looking for the same.

Couldn't you just find a used gamebreaker? I've found that nothing is quite as good as that ball. My advice would be to just search for a used one. Somehow I got lucky enough to find a single drill one at a goodwill the other day.

The Gamebreaker was one of the best balls to come from Ebonite (and they've had some great ones since!) and I'm always finding them (some used, mostly re-releases) on eBay. Perhaps you should check there? I did look just this morning and found four, of course they were 10, 11, 12 and 13 lbs.

I'm not really a fan of used equipment/plugging & re-drilling.  It would have to be close to identical the way I have my GB currently drilled, and without plugging it up.

I try to keep everything maintained and cleaned as best as possible.  I get a long time of use out of the ones I love and keep.  Once they've expired, they've expired.

I'll be practicing with the Endure and Gamebreaker side by side more, but so far, so good.
