Maybe these two balls are apples and oranges, but both are suppose to be long and strong. I probably have 50 games on the Shift and maybe two games on the Complete NV, but the ball fit great and it was an easy Christmas tree pattern for the comparison.

I think that the review that Jhartwig 24 stated that he had 10 pin carry problems. I got lined up on this shot fairly easy and getting to the pocket strong was not a problem. But after two games, I only carried the 10 pin once. I switched to the Shift a few times during those games and the Shift carried the 10 pin consistently when I got the ball to the pocket. The Shift was stronger so if I didn't watch my speed I'd leave a 4 pin.

The Complete NV was a much smoother ball than I had expected but it did make a great spare ball. I threw it at al my spares (except 6 and 10) and it seemed to be very even and not jumpy and converted the spares easily. Just did not kick out the 10 pin when I got to the pocket.

I'll be fair with the ball and use it again. It reads the lane well and gets to the pocket easily. But as Jhartwig 24 stated, I made the adjustments, but the 10 pin still would not carry.

Just picked up the Complete NV Friday afternoon and threw it in our county tournament yesterday. It is definitely different than the Shift which I had used for league on the same lanes. The Shift which is slightly duller, starts up earlier for me and doesn't generate the entry angle the Complete does. I didn't have any problem carrying with the Complete, just getting it to the pocket consistently enough. If I didn't execute a real good swing it was all over the place, but mostly through the nose or over the top. But I was deeper than I normally play and not at all in my comfort zone so it was not unexpected. The Complete carried weaker hits from the inside than any other ball I have thrown.

I think the Shift is just a different animal even though they are both supposed to go long and have a good backend move. A while ago, when had I polished the Shift to the same finish as the Complete, it too was hard to control unless you had a real good stroke to your mark. No getting away with fluffed shots, or overturned shots, or lofted shots, kind of like bowling was meant to be, eh? So for me, the Shift plays better slightly scuffed up so it is tamed down a little bit. I got the Complete to do just what it does, go long when I need help to get down the lane. I might take just a tiny bit of polish off the Complete later but until I've used it more I'll leave it the same way it came.

Went pot bowlinmg this morning and used 3 bowling balls. The Complete NV, Shift and the Wrath Dead Flush.

I started down and in with the Complete NV and won the game, but not with a high score. Changed to the Shift half way through the game and the carry was much better.

Second game I moved left 27 out to 13 at the arrows with the Wrath Dead Flush and I was killing the pocket. Half way through the game I switched back to the Complete NV swinging the ball and the ball came to life. The Shift played much better down and in and the Complete NV played much better as a swing ball.

Third game I was standing 36 playing 17 at the arrows and the Complete came crushing back and carry was not a problem. The Shift did not swing well still, but the Wrath Dead Flush was a close second.

I don't mind carrying a ball that swings as ell as th Complete NV and a ball that plays down and in as well as the Shift. I almost could use the Wrath Dead Flush for both swing or down and in the bal is that good, but it skate on oil and reads the dry extremely well.

So now I have the Buzzbomb, Cell, Bite (on the way)Complete NV, Shift and the Wrath Dead Flush.

Probably still need a weaker ball though.

Got to throw them both on the US Open pattern on HPL lanes yesterday. I had polished the Shift so it approximated the Complete NV for surface. I tried to play them both exactly the same way. They are drilled almost exactly the same as far as pins and cores to start with so I think this was pretty fair. The Complete went a couple feet longer from what I could tell and then it broke harder and cut through the pins with more force. The Shift started a little sooner, had a smoother move but bounced off the pocket leaving more weak leaves. I tried to change up hand positions and speed so I could play them both on the same line and it just plain didn't work for me. I had to help the Shift out by playing a little straighter, not giving the pocket away so to speak. So I agree, the Complete NV does have a little more ability to play the swing type shot.

For what it's worth, I'll add that I threw my Domination too and it barely wrinkled on the line I was trying to play, so there's another piece of information.

Thank you for the feedback Splitz. I use to swing my Angular one drilled similar to the Complete NV and liked the look. I bowled league again last night and practiced afteward on a long oil pattern. Started with my Buzzbomb and after about a game that shot was burned up and I changed to my Cell and finished league. After league I took out my Complete NV and the Shift and practiced. On this left over shot the Complete was very impressive. It handled the oil better and I had some area. Using the Shift (polished) I didn't have much of a look with a swing shot. I moved outside were I burned up the shot with the Buzzbomb and Cell and it was still a little too dry for the Shift. So I played a small fade standing 26 across 13 and 10 at the break point an the Shift ripped the rack.

The CNV seems to handle oil better and is a better swing ball and a very consistant read, I really like it for all spares, not including the 6-10, because it doesn't over react.

I appreciate the information and will continu to work with both the CNV and the Shift, but I think one of them ha to make room for the Bite thats on the way.

The only way the Dead Flush was near as much ball was if the lanes were quite dry. The Dead Flush flies on drier lanes but is not very stron if there isn't dry boards out there. While the Complete will move even if it has to go through some oil. In oil the Complete is a lot stronger. Just from what I have seen from the 2 balls. The Complete is just really clean which almost eliminates the likliness of the ball jumping off the dry, like the Dead Flush will. Just my opinion....

I think I sid that on my post on 2/17. And I agree, the Wrath Dead Flush skates on oil and reads the dry extremely well. The old Boss II core is extremely strong. The Complete NV will handle more oil and is more even off the break point. The WDF is apt to leave more 9 pins and the CNV is apt to leave more 10 pins for me.

I have a pin down complete and pin up complete, same mb positions on them. The pin up is 5-6 boards stronger and more violent off the dry like it should be, the pin down ball is smooth as a baby azz.

I do not know your pin position but i am guessing you have a pin down ball.

You are correct. The pin is down. I wanted the ball to check up sooner becaue many of the balls I have drilled have an up pin.
