Complete NV for Lefthanders
« on: March 25, 2008, 09:05:09 AM »
I was thinking of drilling up a complete NV but I haven't seen anyone throw one that is left handed. Is there any lefties out there that have drilled it up and had some sucess with them. Also how did you lay it out, just out of curiousity.

Thanks,
Jimmy

I'm left handed and well check this topic.

About how it was drilled. I'm not 100% sure have to ask my driller. We used the dual angle layout.

I'm a left handed tweener, 17.5 mph, 300 rpm. I have the Complete NV drilled Pin just left of center .5" above fingers; CG .5" up and left of grip center; and MB .25" left of my thumb. Ball was 15# w/3" pin. Reaction is long with strong move to pocket. Margin for error is 2 - 6 boards on a medium heavy 40' House shot, down and in, or 2 - 3 boards swinging the ball 20 - 4-5 at the break point.

I'm guessing that JoCo then went on to shoot 899!  A couple of weeks later based on Ebonite's website...though I could be wrong.

I want to say.....I am frankly surprised.  It is my belief that that ball is actually a RIGHTY only ball.  I've taken a look at the core pictures and if you look carefully you can see the assymettric cut on the weightblock is ONLY on the left side.  This gives a distinct bias towards hooking for righties....and NOT hooking for lefties.  Damn Conspiracy ball!

I'm not kidding!

Lucky, I think you might be on to something there. I was kind of thinking the same thing. I have a NIB Complete, just considering trading it for something else maybe more suited for my game. The core looks like it sets up so much better for right handed players than the left. Maybe I will trade it for an Ultra or a Raid. Not sure what I want to do with it.

I like mine, revs up strong in the mids, strong backend reaction. Throws pins around like nothing i've ever owned.

Thanks

With me being a lefty, this has my attention as well since I plan on drilling a Complete NV this Saturday.  Any input??  Should lefty's stay away from this ball?

There drilled so differently it's really hard to compare the balls.

The Raid even with the strong drilling (it's about 3 1/2" for me) doesn't hook much. It revs up the second it leaves my hand is real mellow and controlled downlane It also tends to get over/under for me when I try to get in and hook it.

The Raid for me is great when I can square up it, because I can really throw it hard without having the ball blowing through the break.

I don't have a lot of games on mine, but i'm already recommending it everyone that asks me about it. It looks great in everyones hands regardless of style and my buddy has about 4 honor scores with it in like a 3 week span.

FYI, in box condition it's real clean through the fronts, so don't be afraid to knock the polish down a little.

I am going to drill my blank one up, Joe, I think I am going to use a variation of your layout. Thanks for the help.

Well I ended up getting the Complete NV drilled up.  The pin and MB was 4 inches from PAP, this ball rolls long and snaps very hard on medium heavy conditions.  I don't doubt it and am left-handed.  Great ball!
