Confused with Killer Pearl drilling

Need to see if someone can help me out? I told my driller
that I wanted to get a decent lenth and a fairly hard backend.
This is how he drilled the ball.

What this got me was nothing. Hardly any hook and no backend whatsoever.
needless to say, I am a little miffed. I had a Killer Pearl that cracked out
and Ebonite gave me great customer service in replacing it. But, it took my
shop guy over a week and a half to ship the ball out and then the distributor
took their sweet time in sending out a new one. Three weeks later I have a
ball that does not wrinkle on the lanes. I wanted to go with basically the
same drill pattern on my first one, but was talked out of it for this. Would
someone with way more knowlegde than me please tell me how I should have set
this ball up. I am what you would consider a power stroker with decent revs.
I throw around 16 to 17 mph and track near the thumb and fingers. Oh and by
the way, this drilling tracks right over my middle finger. Any help would
be appreciated.

go to www.hammerbowling.com, click on a drill sheet for the big blue, go to the end of it and you'll notice there are pin safe zones for high track players and that is probably you.  I did the same thing with a primal instinct and same result with ball flaring over the finger holes.  I, in turn, had a v2 clean with a pin under the bridge and same drilling and this ball went down the lane and arced hard on the backend.  Maybe none of the instincts like this drilling for high trackers.  I am not 100% sure but you aren't the only one that was upset with this drilling.

before you go redrilling it, try sanding it down to 400, 600, or 800 and repolishing it to see if that gives it a little more bite. just don't put a super high gloss on it just something around 2000 grit to start.

Brockette - Looking at your diagram and also being a high-tracker here is my view.
1)Pin under bridge or middle finger is a very long Pin to Pap distance usually like 5.5-6.5 on high trackers. With that being said you probably arn't getting much flare potential. Have a high track and pin under on this ball is proably revving pretty hard early, but not biting on the backend. I have a Trimax III pin under bridge that does that. great on med wet-dry shots or tougher tournament shots but not much on a house shot.
2) Check with your driller a hole down in the thumb quadrant might raise your bow tie a little so it does not flare on the finger holes.(maybe at best)Have your driller call an Ebo rep for the right direction.

That ball is an early  roller anyways due to its coverstock. Try coming around the ball more and see if it doesn't help with backend or even a higher grit level or polish. Some ebonites have reacted funny when doing a stacked drilling. For some styles they rev early and roll which is not a bad thing but lack the backend that most people crave. Playing inside the oil line, with a small belly or having a straighter trajectory toward the pocket might help with carry also. Good luck

sorry to hear the ball isn't working for you. If you would have just sent the ball to me, you would not be having this problem.. LOL!! (inside joke)
