Advice needed!
« on: April 23, 2012, 04:09:44 PM »
I am interested in possibly purchasing a new ball and was hoping to get some opinions about what kind of ball I should get, and maybe even some help with the layout of it.

Right now I have mostly Ebonite equipment...but ebonite is not necessarily a requirement for the new ball, it is just what I have now.

I am a lefty, generally with a fairly high ball speed (trying to slow things down), but I usually am between 17-19mph. Right now my primary balls are the evolve and a playmaker, plus a plastic ball for spares. I also have a mission. My benchmark is the playmaker without question. I use the evolve with heavier oil or longer patterns. I will grab the mission when the evolve won't move enough, but I am not terribly confident with the look I get from it (it doesn't carry well for me). I generally play a pretty basic down and in type shot, I aim around the second arrow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...I have been bowling for a number of years but have just in the past 5 or so gotten really involved in my equipment, so I apologize that I don't know what information to give you...THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!

P.S.: I have been looking at the ebonite elevate mostly because a teammate loves hers, but again I am open to any and all suggestions!

I don't think you can go wrong with the Elevate. It's a really good ball for the price point!
