Demo Days
« on: November 16, 2004, 04:19:25 PM »
Does anyone know if Ebonite carries lighter weight balls for their demo days? I would love to have my daughter try some new equipment, but she only throws 12 lb. stuff.

No 12 pounders on demo days, sorry. They normally have 15 pound balls only.

The spans would not fit her hands either. The smallest they have is 4 inches.

If they only made a ball that would carry that da_n 7 pin (and I am right handed!!)

Sorry to argue Jim and I don't know the norm everywhere but the 4 Ebonite and one Hammer Days I have been apart in the southern region done by John Gaines and Doug Becker we had 12# balls in the demo day balls as long as they are made in 12# which is most everything except the top of the line balls(Instincts and Xcel's).  The spans were made smaller accordingly also I think we had 3 1/2 and 3 3/4.  If someone is doing one and they don't offer 12# speak to the shop who is hosting it or the Ebonite rep they send out to perform it.

I should just quit bowling, oh wait I already tried that.
Now that I am back and my Saws are sharp again, I am ready to cut some wood.

You better check with your local proshop that is sponsoring this, because I have been to quite a few of both with a hammer and ebonite in just last few weeks.  All they had at mine were 15's and 4 inch was smallest span.  It could all depend on the size of the area and stuff as well

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

card79,

thats the way it has been with every demo days I have ever attended. All 15 pound balls and the smallest span was 4 inches. I live in the Dallas area so I just thought it was that way everywhere..

I am on Hammer's staff and I will verify that we do have a few 12 pounders with small spans... in the Hammer line and I am pretty sure that the Ebonite set is the same...

Thanks guys, I found out from her coach that there will be 13 lbs there. What do you guys think, my daughter is 17 years old, ave. is 165ish and she throws a 12 lb. Scout reactive. Her coach wants her to go to a 13 lb. ball but she only weights 100 lbs. soaking wet. She has been bowling for about 8 years. What's new in Ebonite's or Hammer's line that's close to the Scout?
