do you think we will see another ball with the V2 core
« on: February 11, 2009, 02:17:34 PM »
and what do you think it would be or hope it would be? I really like the playmaker but would love to have a version with a weaker cover.

Can't really see anything else coming out, but you never know. That core has worked with every cover they've used on it.

IMHO, I think they should always keep SOMETHING in the lineup that has this core in it.  It just makes balls so versatile.

They will keep it for sure. The same thing they do with the Bash and Clash balls, which is keep the core and tweek the cover a bit and release it under a new name and a new color, is what they are going to do. It is one of the most successful core's ever, you dont just stop using it.

Eddie the brand manager told me 5 years ago there will always be a v2 cored ball in the lineup.

I think there point of a few months were there was not a ball in the last 10 years, how can you not want free money???

How good would the One core be in newer covers????? Eddie launch a new series using the One Core at the mid price point.

sr300 didnt work to well even though i think it was a very versitle ball.  How about a remake of the v2 dry.  Or Plastic cover over the v2 core.  Take lane one hold on the plastic ball core away

I'm still waiting for the original ice core paired with the gamebreaker cover GB 10.7.  A remake of the black ice!  one can only dream....

And to answer the question, no the sr300 and rxs300 had new cores. I want to see the rxs300 pearl 11.2 cover on something new.  I thought that was what they were going to use on the playmaker but the came up with a new coverstock instead.  That was the only ball produced with that coverstock on it

I'd be surprised if they didn't at least do another ball with it inside. I think we may see a weaker pearl version at some point but I am basing this off "rumors" so I have no factual evidence on the subject and my post may as well be classified as a guess.

Ditching the V2 core would be a huge mistake by Ebonite.

I can't think of any of them that were bad matches with the coverstocks they used, the core is that good.

I too, would like to see them make something slightly weaker than the playmaker with that core.

The sr300 has the same coverstock as the one aka a gamebreaker.  Rxs300 is a pearl version of GB 11.2 that was used on the Big One, its the only USA release with that coverstock

V2 Strong that green ball was the only bad match imo, too low of rg and not enough torque to pull that ball through the pins.

the pearl gb11.2 i think would be interesting on the V2 core, medium rg pearl.
