i agree with you, with the box finish and that yellow sticker drilling, the ball goes way too long on med-heavy oil, and is way too violent on the dry.
using one of the other two drillings, especially the 2nd one should work better
for you in med-heavy oil, and with the cover brought down to 800-1000 level.
it's a great ball and most reviews are good on the ball, don't give up on it.
plug it and start over.
