EBI top cover comparison
« on: July 28, 2016, 11:14:06 AM »
Any word on how the covers compare between the Warrior Supreme, Dark Legend Solid, and Scandal?

To me those 3 seem fairly similar strength-wise while the Swerve GT and Paradox would be slightly less

I read somewhere that the Scandal still has the strongest cover with the Warrior Supreme coming in slightly behind. The difference might be the carbon fiber infusion for the Scandal. Not sure where the Dark Legend Solid stacks up but I would bet that it's somewhere behind the Warrior Supreme.

I've heard that those three are  the strongest pieces with Scandal being a little stronger. I know one thing, EBI brought out some strong covers this year! Don't sleep on the  Dark Solid, heard it can surprise..

The Game Breaker 2 Phenom might qualify to be mentioned in the same breath as the Dark Legend Solid too. I've also heard that the Heat X-Treme is pretty aggressive. Lots of really strong, solid coverstocks in the current Ebonite family lineup for sure.

I'd be all over the Phenom if I had some extra cash around. I'm just looking at one purchase right now and need a ball to sit above a Motiv Revolt Havoc and Ebonite Warrior. It seems like one of those things to just throw a dart and take what you hit.

I've always had more success with symmetric cores. However, I love the Iron Fist core in the Warrior and hard to beat the Gas Mask core in the Widow

It really is. Not only has Ebonite and all their brands recently released a good chunk of strong solid covers, but most of the other big companies have as well. Brunswick with the Absolute Nirvana and Mastermind Strategy, DV8 with the Vandal Smash, Radical with the Xeno, and Roto Grip with the No Rules. Then Motiv is coming out with the Trident which looks very strong regardless of it having a hybrid cover. I'm not familiar with 900 Global or AMF but they probably have something new out there along those lines too. It's coming to the point where you just the looks of something is one of the main deciding factors. ;D

If you like symmetrics and want something stronger than the Havoc then the Scandal is probably your best bet. Less sexy of a choice given all of the newer releases, but it's hard to imagine it disappointing.

As the 900 Global guru around here, if you're looking for a strong symmetrical, either go with the AMF Pure or Respect Solid. Both covers are strong and the core in the Pure is more suited for oil as well. If you're looking asymmetrical, either the Great Escape or a Dream Big. Can't speak on the Inception or Truth.

I've seen Brad's video and it is helpful because I don't throw the ball too different. If Brad made a longer video of each release that would be a good starting base

not sure, don't have that info.
The scandal is a beast, way to much for me at OBB condition
I only threw it at an early demo days around XMAS
My guess is that it will be at the World Series of Bowling coming up soon
Scandal is plenty
I do have the Paradox and that is also plenty strong (a good arrow less than the Scandal IMO)

Scandal has carbon fiber helping to bond the core and smaller pieces in the cover. Dark Legend has same cover, no carbon fiber. Warrior fits between the two, whit possibly more on the back end. Wait till you see to see the Trilogy back end.
