Hey everyone,
Check out the new Ebonite Ball arsenal video at:
http://www.putfile.com/jeffussery
New reaction videos of the Angular One, RXS300, Weight Hole implications, Release changes, and much more. Check it out.
Nick, I'm ready. This is the first compilation I've ever done, but the Ebonite crowd is going to bring it. Game on!
Each time a new Ebonite release is out, we'll do a full vid for each product. I'll also work on some full-length Angular One and RXS300 videos soon.
Enjoy!

What do you do different in your release to change axis rotation so dramatically? I cannot get 3 completely different looks like that if I tried all night...

wow awsome vid mang!!! very impressive.
--------------------
Yeah... I'm a lefty...
-
Simply a small change in the position of my fingers in relation to the side of bowling ball the release point. It's something I've been good at for quite some time now. Unfortunately, I can't seem to change my axis tilt to save my life. This creates more friction in my ball reaction than I would prefer at times.
Oh well, I guess you can't have it all. Thanks for the compliment on the video!

Do you spend any one on one time on the lanes to help with releases at all during the class?
--------------------
Shane Soule
-
Unfortunately, we simply don't have enough time to physically give a "lesson" with everybody on the lanes. I'm sure we could point out some stuff during the lane play time, or we could definitely make extra time in the evening if lanes are available at Galaxy Lanes.

Hmm... great video if I wanted to see someone throw strikes all day on a walled up house shot? What information did that give anyone? Other then your layout and what ball you were throwing?!?!? You didn't teach anyone laying out a ball, you didn't teach anyone about weight hole positioning, you taught nothing.
This is your answer to BrunsNicks Videos?!?!
Seems kinda dull and blah, just like the equipment you were throwing!!

1. Shutup.
2. Shutup.
3. Shutup!
Dude, it was a great video, showing how the different balls, drillings, axis rotation/tilt compare.
If they wanted to show all this on different shots, I'm sure they would/could. But that wasn't the point they were getting at.

I wasn't necessarily trying to really "teach" anything per se in this video. I was initially just trying to get some videos of some Ebonite equipment up on a website.
I then decided to add some additional material that I already had with me. Unfortunately, I simply don't have any other videos with me at this time. I'll continue making more stuff in the future.
All in gest George, all in gest. Just trying to have some fun on here.

Definitely one of the top videos posted on this site. Very informative, and definitely not boring. Can't wait to see what else you post.

Actually, these videos are from my home center in Lawrence, KS. Scores there are quite low, and the lane condition is not particularly easy (although they were the day these videos were shot). We usually have 3-5 300 games and maybe 1-2 800 series in a season. Very low scoring center overall.
For me, the RXS300 is much cleaner through the front due to the pearlized shiny coverstock. I actually used a more aggressive layout in my RXS300 because my SR300 ended up a little weaker than I would have preferred. Just remember that the differential in this core is quite low, so the potential for track flare is pretty small (intentionally).
Thanks, and bowl to win!

Of course, you're right! Are you from the area, or do I know you? If you've been there, you understand the scoring environment comment. They can be brutal most of the time there.

Nick - Glad you approve. The videos are kind of fun to compile and work on, but much more difficult than most people probably think. I've always enjoyed yours, as others have. Hopefully people will have fun with some of the stuff I'll throw together with Ebonite equipment.

Cool Video, it goes by pretty fast, I had to watch it again, can you separate and title some of the ones with the weight holes so I know which ones I'm looking at?
Jeff to get more axis tilt, try keeping your wrist cocked through the release instead of uncocking it.
I enjoy reading your posts and watching your vids, keep em coming.
Jim
-
Yeah, I certainly know the physical adjustment to obtain more axis tilt. I just simply can't get it done.
Next time, I'll include pics of the ball layout before we throw them. Thanks for compliments guys!

Nice video Jeff! We'll be bowing at Royal Crest in team challange later this year too. I met you up here at West Lanes when you and Rhino came up and tore it up in the Coors Doubles!
Keep up the good work!

Jeff,
Love the videos. I wish your 2day clinics were a bit closer to where I live in Minnesota. I'd love to attend one. I used to exclusively use Columbia 300 equipment back several years ago. Recently started bowling again and picked up an Ebonite Angular One to go with my Paradigm Passion. I can't say i've ever had a ball react the way the Angular One does. I'm highly impressed. Shot a 290 with it 3rd game out of the box yesterday morning.
Keep up the good work with the vids.

What software did you use to edit your videos?
--------------------

I actually used Windows Movie Maker to edit and clip the videos, music, and text. Pretty handy and easy to learn.
Royal Crest is particularly bad this year if you're coming soon. No 300 games and no 800 series yet this year. Just a couple of 299 games.
Good luck!

How are you liking that RXS300? it looks really good in that vid.
--------------------
Bowl to Win!
-
RXS300 is one of my favorite balls right now. Great down-lane movement with incredible length through the front. It's not a skid/flip reaction, but it covers a lot of boards in a very short amount of lane in the backend.

i vote for the rxs 300. now i see what type of reaction that you say you
like. it looks as though the ball rolls out right before it reaches the
pocket.
-
I'm told often that the ball reaction that I tend to look for is somewhat different than most people. I usually prefer for the ball to lose axis rotation and begin to roll end over end just in front of the pins.
Thanks for the vote!
