Ebonite Magic or NVD?
« on: March 23, 2009, 10:09:36 AM »
With same layout, 3.5x3.5 and both at 1000 grit, Which ball would you prefer, which would handle more oil, and which ball would be stronger?

Magic. This ball tends to store its energy up better and be harder off the pattern. The NVD is definately a little more even and earlier rolling.

I have the Magic, and a teammate has the NVD. His NVD is pretty even, but does cover a lot of boards. My Magic is a longer ball with a more dramatic break at the end. The reactions are not very similar.

It is going to depend on the reaction that you want to see. Both the balls are winners from what I have seen. Guy in our league had 844 with his Magic last week. It would be hard to go wrong either way.

Pretty hard to compare on that lay out but my NVD is 2x6 and handles good amounts of oil I throw it on the scorpion with no problem and the ball rolls in great but mine is also still at 4000 abralon so it doesn't have the surface you want, I've thrown test balls with the magic and i can play the same line with my NVD it just doesn't have the snap to it like the Magic did

nmagic is much longer than the nvd.the magic does have a more pronounced move on the back ,but its no where near as strong as the nvd. imho they are a decent combo for your arsenal as they are totaly different with the nvd being for fresher longer shots and the magic being second/third shift. I used the magic 3 games yesterday on a weak ths and it got better as the lanes broke down. I purpousely only used it to see where it would work.If i had to picj one it would be the nvd but they do compliment each other in my use of them .
