The Big One on medium oil...did you change your surface?
« on: March 20, 2006, 02:23:52 AM »
I have one on the way, and I'm just wondering if those of you who have used it on medium oil, did you need to alter the surface in any way to do so, or do you just play a deeper than normal line?  How do you use it?

Out of box on medium oil with a strong drill....you will find a new meaning to playing DEEP. Of course this is with a good bit of revs. Mine is drilled 4x4 pin above and right of ring. CG kicked right and MB right beside thumb. You may want to try something like pin to pap of 5" or so.

I suppose I should say that I have low revs and medium speed, definitely on the speed dominant side.

I personally don't like to change alot of surface on balls.  I just get deep enough to use the ball, or put it in the bag.  It never fails, you change the surface, and go somewhere else, and the original surface would've been perfect.  I think of bowling balls as tools;  you wouldn't take a screwdriver when you need pliers would you?

2000 abralon no polish works well this way pin high above ring for some length, very playable this way on mediums.
