It's called the "Next ONe". I talked to a rep last week about it. Supposed to be even better, if that is possible.

Looks like a coverstock tweak (GB 11.2 instead of 10.7, maybe a different reactive formulation or some particles in there?) with the coverstock sanded to 4000 instead of 4000+polish.  Am i missing anything or is that the change?

If those are the right specs, the 11.2 refers to the amount of oil the ball absorbs in terms of grams per hour.  That means this ball would absorb more oil than The One, giving you more direct contact with the lane surface.

This seems to be Ebonite/Hammer's new thing as I am reading the Road Hawg absorbs 10.9 grams of oil per hour.

with all this oil absorbtion what happens to the ball and the shot for that matter. how much contact does ebonite and hammer want. It's gonna get to the point where after the first 3 shots there won't be a shot.

Though it absorbs a lot of oil, it comes polished and at a high grit so you can play many angles even when the lanes are a little bit burnt.

However most people adjust the surface down to about 2000 or so.

I'd have to question my boss some more but I thought he said that the cover absorbs oil and directs it toward the core so the cover doesn't get oil logged right away.  However I may have misunderstood that.

Because of the new coverstock and the finish of this ball. The Big One is about 1 foot earlier and 7 boards stronger in the backend than The One.

Would The Big One replace the xxxcel as their heavy oil ball or will the xxxcel still hook more in heavy oil.

Nope XXXcel is Ebonites Heavy oil ball. The Big One is a medium-heavy. It would probabaly take the XXcel's place.
