Hello new to post here need a new ball
« on: September 04, 2008, 06:04:07 PM »
Hi I'm new to posting this is actually my first time so bare with me. I love Eboniite bowling balls, and I am looking for a ball and a layout that is very tame... I throw the ball about 17-18 MPH and have a pretty high rev rate... Probably 420ish, but I have more then average tilt so my ball tends to overhook on the backend when I run into trouble thats most of the time what it is. If the pin on my ball is below my fingers it thumps on me the whole way down the lane and I get inverted and track like a full roller and it drives me crazy so I try my best to stay away from that... Does anyone have any suggestions on a pretty tame ball with a layout that might fit my game? (I know its hard not seeing me bowl but I did the best I could" I have 2 game breakers that I love, and a PlayMaker with a 'saftey' layout and I think it hooks to much. I need something that can make me play the lane straighter and not overhook as soon as it hits the dry... Thank you for reading.

The new Clash and Bash are both milder pieces from Ebonite and are probably worth looking at...

The original Bash(purple/yellow/silver one) is the ball you are looking for. That low flare core is money for higher rev rates.

hey confuzionZW
I myself would try and stay away from the newer cover stock balls and look for an older cover stock to play with..  or example a ebonite showtime pearl, ebonite gametime, and it so happens that I have one of each if your interested?? the showtime pearl could be laid out 5x3(maybe even 2.5) and the cover takes changes nicely.. the game time would be a little stronger earlier, but you could lay it out 6x3 and its cover takes changes nicely too.. both balls with their layouts should give you a straighter line with controllable arcing backends.. then the covers can be tweeked for more or less length.. just a thought, if your interested drop me an email and I'll give you a good price on either ball..  slashrr69

Plastic is a high rev rate bowler's best friend on lighter oiled lanes.

The Emerald Vibe or the new Clash can fit the bill, also Ebonite put a stronger cover on the Red/White/Blue tornado so it could be an option as well.

And layout wise, i'd suggest something around 5-5.5" pin to pap but going with a lower pin placement to smoothen out the transition stage of the ball reaction.

Tame ball, great for someone like you as described, original Bash is my suggestion.
