Nothing can be added on how iconic and versatile the Enhanced V2 core is in the Game Breaker series. What changes is the cover and how it responds to friction. It’s been awhile since there has been a pearl. This cover is a base of HK22 and the GB12.7 pearl package additive. GB12.7 in the solid version is found on the textured GB5. The GB4 Hybrid has HK22, but a slightly weaker hybrid package (GB12.0). FTF did see a reaction gap (in our area) between the GB4 Hybrid (clean but a quick response) and the early, strong GB5. Surface adjustments either way on both could change the distance, but it seemed not quite there for some bowlers. The GB5 Pearl will hit that reaction spot and adjustments to the cover can add a bit of traction, just not as sharp as the GB4 Hybrid. Bowlers that don’t like to more too deep to accommodate the angles needed for the GB4 Hybrid will like this ball. The colors are great and Dynamicore is there for hitting power and durability. If you had the GB4 Pearl and needed more punch, this is a good choice for you. Expect to see a lot of them on the ball returns, just like the GB4 Hybrid and GB5 Solid. At this price, the GB series is the best value in mid performance lines.
