Title: Ebonite Pantera
Post by: High Voltage on November 19, 2004, 02:00:46 AM
I currently own an old Ebonite Pantera that I have had for a few years.  I just love that old relatively inexpensive ball.  I have been able to score with it at our local lanes when everything else in my bag has failed.  I assume that it is no longer available.  I have used the Hook Again on it and it has really helped, but I feel that I am living on borrowed time.  My question is this.  Which ball does Ebonite currently offer that would most closely match the behavior and reaction of my old Pantera?  I will be replacing it soon and would like to replace it with something that has very similar characteristics.  I have contacted Ebonite twice through their support page requesting this information, and have yet to receive a reply.   Thanks!!

Savage core with different densities I believe.  They're no longer using the Pantera/Tiger core.

Dp - would the V2 sanded be too far off from the pantera ?.. I have the same problem. Pantera has about 4 and 1/2 years of lineage.. still works but...

Show Time sanded would be a better choice to attempt to replace the pantera, core shape is similar. Coverstock prep with proper layout might get you close but I doubt you'll duplicate the reaction of the Pantera.

Phatdon.. thanks, that's the same thing the dealer said.. but I really miss the move of the pantera... wish they would bring it back.. one could still be competitive with that ball..
