ebonite pivot point vs Honor
« on: January 27, 2015, 07:27:34 PM »
What's the difference between Ebonite Pivot Point and Honor? And are these bowling balls stronger that Track MX16?

Right now I'm using Track MX16 as my first ball but I want something stronger at the backend.

Thanks.

Then you want the Code Of Honor.

Thank you BallDoctor. But I only have two choices. Honor or Pivot point. Those are the only available choices I have where I plan to buy the bowling ball. I check the specs of the three. Honor and Code of Honor have virtually the same specs except the factory finish. Honor and Pivot Point have different coverstock.

Additional info. I'm a lefty and stroker style. I don't turn my wrist. Thumb points at 2 O'clock from push away to release. This way, I'm more consistent with my shot.

Thanks.

Honor will be longer on all patterns. It is better on medium oil. Have used Honor way more than Pivot Point. Are you lanes wood or synthetic?

Hi John, looks like you beat me to it.

@ Doc: his lanes will be brunswick pro anvil.  he has a moderate tilt, ave rev.  wasn't able to check his rotation.  Actually, JOhn"s problem started when the center came out with a longer pattern together with a more viscous oil (command ).  I don't know too much re the new balls.  Last I got was the source.  So I pointed him here and  hope some more knowledgeable people here can help.

TIA guys

BallDoc hit it right on the head with his first reply.  Code of Honor.  It was released yesterday to the public.  It is a monster compared to the Pivot Point.  Great to start out on the fresh with and then when they breakdown us the pivot point.

Johncdee, go with the Pivot Point over the Honor. Don't be afraid to scuff the ball cover for more reaction. Good Luck and let us know how you do.

Thank You!! It is enjoyable to have discussions with Bowlers who truly are  trying to learn. Have used Ebonite exclusively since around 2003. I don't have all the answers, but I know folks who do. Bowl To Win!

BTW, the original question was never really answered.. So just for future reference

Which is the stronger ball... Or better if people could rate them.  If not too much of a problem... Maybe include the lagacy too...??  Thanks a bunch.

Pivot Point is earlier than Honor. For Me, Honor is  sharper on backend. Legacy is  longest of all three. Not as sharp on backend.  Honor and Legacy are for medium to lighter patterns.

Update:

I bought the Pivot Point. My friend sanded it 600 and polished it a little. So far so good. I just need to be consistent on my release. And I need to trust the ball will come back after I throw it outwards.

Next week will be the championship round. Hope I do well.

Thanks for everyone's help.
