Correlation between Ebonite/Hammer Coverstocks
« on: December 06, 2004, 10:30:27 AM »
Can anyone clarify the correlation between ebonite and hammer's coverstocks?  Like with AMF/Track/Columbia using a superflex base for some reactives, then enhanced superflex on some, their version of "Goo/M-80" on others and the "UFO/WOW" covers, you can pretty much understand what cover is on what ball no matter what the company is.  Like the Crash/Wicked/Super Scamp/Valor Tour all use Enhanced Superflex and the Velocity/Big Bully/Rule/Bully all use Goo/M-80, how do we know what is being used between Hammer/Ebonite without taking a shot in the dark.

By feeling the surface texture and reading the reactions, it seems as if the Vicious Strike/Particle/Particle Pearl/Power Diesel covers came from the Apex Series of balls.  It seems as if the Diesels are using variations on Big Wheel and Big Wheel Particle, and the Blade Series with Trimax reactive.

Am I right?  or Wrong?  and what Ebonite Covers have used the cover from the Big Blue Series and Deal series(or vice-versa)?  It seems as if the Deal has the exact same cover from the TPC Player(Trimax with P.E.T.) but on Hammer specs it's listed as "Particle Pearl".  Does anyone have an accurate formulation as to what covers are on what balls?
