Ebonite has been missing a heavy volume option for awhile now. This time they have come out swinging with a new cover and core design. Usually a big ball has a solid coverstock. With older lane surfaces, some balls would start up too early even on fresh. The Crusher has some teeth out of the box at 500/2000 Siaair. The Optimize Hybrid formulation was found on the Emerge Hybrid, but that version had the HK22 base. This one doesn’t and that gives a more rounded shape for fresh tournament events or heavy volumes and even tougher patterns with a decent amount of volume. The Crusher could be a replacement (along with the Brunswick Mesmerize) on tour for the Brunswick Mindset slot. Speed dominant bowlers might be able to use in their leagues, although a surface change could still be needed. On Tommy Jones’ One Take Video, he added a little polish and the Crusher covered a lot of boards on a medium volume pattern. All the tech is here with DynamiCore and D.O.T.
