The other night in our sanctioned men's league, a bowler threw the first 24 strikes (for back to back 300's) with a WhirlWind.  It was absolutely killing the shot and the pocket.  I believe he had his drilled pin above the fingers (maybe 5x5).  Does anyone have one and if so, how do you have it drilled and do you like it?  Was this one of those "sleeper" balls that no one really paid attention to?  To tell you the truth, I had never even heard of it until he shot the lights out with it the other night.

The whirlwind defintely a sleeper.Cant beat it for the money.If you want one you better get one soon since Ebonite is no longer making them.

This ball is without a doubt the Sleeper of the Century. I cant put it down. Heres a pic of mine

I love it. Clean, smooth, yet strong all at the same time. Mine started to crack from the plug of the previous drill (which was a horrible rolling ball with that drill) and when i tried to buy another i found out ebonite discontinued it and it cant be gotten in 15 lbs, nor can the Black Ice which is similar.

expect ebonite to release a similar type of ball at bowl expo.

This ball is definitely the Sleeper of the Year.  A good clean strong reaction from a lower tier ball.  I have one and use it often when I can't get a good look with my other gear.

I have mine drilled with the pin over the ring finger and CG stacked below, 1" from the midline.

You should try to pick one up before there gone.

I am thinking of putting the pin above and between the fingers, kicking the CG out, and placing an x-hole 1" beyond my PAP.  Hopefully this will kill our THS which is on the shorter side with clean backends...

Let us know how it goes....why the reaction strenghtening weighthole for clean backends??

By the way I think Carla Honeychurch(new name???) used it to kill the second part of the USBC ladies show!!

I'm planning on getting it drilled on Saturday.  I like the reaction I get from a flare increasing x-hole.  I find it to be much more forgiving on errant shots.
