An admission??

Going through the reviews section about the Mission when I saw this in their product description:

SOME Ebonite covers seemed to have SOME problems for SOME people. Others claim to have had no trouble at all with them.

 I think it was a combination of things that worked together to decrease the performance level over a period of time, but it did happen FOR SOME.

 It happened enough that it was brought to Ebonites attention, so now they are trying to do something about it, but only time will tell if they've been successful. They can SAY anything, but only TIME WILL TELL.

 My TNV never died on me, but I don't use balls that much or that long.

Note that I did say "some"..

Notoriously, the GB covers tended to have a quick death..

Others were very long lasting

 Yes, that is why I also used the term SOME.

 And the original TRIMAX cover was as good as any I've ever come across and, IMHO, would rival pk18, activator, accutred, or ANY other cover you wanted to put it up against.

 Too bad they stopped using it.

I wouldn't say "death" but I will say they require the user to do MUCH better/more cleaning and de-oiling than many other balls. My wife's GameBreaker is one that just requires a better cleaning before we'd leave the lanes and at least 24 hours in the Abzorbit bag before it was ready for the next set.

Granted we see/have seen probably more oil than most, except for a heavy sports shot but I learned by the third week she had it that this ball was going to require more/deep cleaning every time, so just adjust to it and all was fine.

She's still got it, uses it and kills with it as long as I take the time and effort to keep it 'up to par', but then, that's what she's got me for, so she says.

All companies ball last for a long time if u take care of them. I think they were trying to make them last longer for those who abuse there equipment and never clean it.

everyone wanted more and more hook and ebonite gave it to the consumers but the consumers did not grab the flyer on how to take care of the equipment and want to throw it on

Sorry, been finishing my gardens. Yea, that link is as good as any. It's a fine powder, DO NOT BREATH IT IN, and it works just as well as Power House does. I can't tell any real difference and I'm cheap.

I have been using it in the shop on customer's ball for about 2 years now. I use it for 4-5 balls then toss it out on the driveway/parking lot to pick up any drips from customer's cars.

If you need more info on it, message me and I'll be happy to tell you everything I do with it.

I believe the issue is with their more recent ball as the Evolve.

There's less issue with their newer balls, starting with the Striking Motion. They've been using less absorptive covers, as far as I know. That includes the SM, Evolve and Mission.

To this day i ROFL when I see a TNV only because my friend drilled one up and after about 30 games ball went from turning over down lane to backing up.  Now he uses it as a dry lane ball when everything else hooks too much.

Strange, to this day at OOB, I still have to wait for a certain lane condition to use my TNV.  IT is too strong.  Total games so far about 170 to 200.

Mine pretty much did the sane thing. Attempts to revive it proved futile..

I know others have had theirs "forever" without a loss of reaction. But not mine..
