Speaking of a turbo x...here is the latest info
« on: February 09, 2005, 04:20:22 AM »
I don't know if anybody has heard anything on this but a guy that bowls on my tuesday team gets 4 test balls from a proshop guy that he knows.  Now these balls can either already be out or won't be out for awhile.  This year he received a Turbo X remake it looks like.  It's red/blue/white i believe.  Maybe they are coming out with a reactive resin turbo x in the near future?

Yea and actually i just checked 123bowl.com and the xxcel is under the overseas section of ebonite along with the v2 particle.  Hmmm that's kind of wrong...

Both the XXcel and Big Time are on ebo website.  Check it out XXcel is lower load particle and the core is pretty different is has a weird shape at the top above the other big weird shape, sorry thats the best way to put it.

Which sounds like it will be almost identical to the Xcel particle with a 1000 grit cover...

its not gonna be the same. the rg and diff is not the same. the XXcel will flare more.. go longer and have a more continuous back end.

according to the site it has a higher length rating and a higher breakpoint rating.

well for the most part the core is the same, just the top of the cylinder has 2 little nubs sticking out. this created a what i explained in the above post.

when i get this i already know my layout..  pin above ring and to the right ( about 1 1/2 - 2" from PAP), BOMB under/over thumb depending on the location

Ebonite is not the type of company to take a ball, tweak it 1 or 2 boards and slap a new name on it, like Brunswick has done in the past.

1 the core is modified
2 the cover is different.

just because the rg and diff (which i dont see as the same because the core is modified) is the same doesnt mean its gonna do the same
