Title: FYI on the Mission Domination
Post by: Phoneman on March 07, 2011, 08:04:29 PM
So, last week I noticed I lost a bit of reaction on the ball.  Not much but a little bit, I had to move a board or 2 right of where I was standing and if I missed in it slid a couple of extra feet.  Now keep in mind I have close to 75 games on it in the first month.  So, yesterday I got asked to sub.  I decided to stop by the proshop on my way home to change and drop the ball in the rejuvinator to see what would happen.  Last week I also ran the ball with a 3000 Abralon pad again but it did not help.  Well I get to the lanes and the proshop tells me the ball is ready and it bled for 1.5 hours.Well the answer was right there last night.  Full reaction back to the way it was at first.  If I had not had the ball hang on my thumb late in game 3 I would have had another 800 with it.  I did shoot 280,279,230 with it for 789.  SO my advice to you is to pay close attention to the amount of games on the ball and the reaction.  Any slight change should give you a clue to get the ball to a proshop for some deep cleaning.

I am glad that the Rejuvinator worked for you. I have tried the Rejuvinator (Revivor) on 2 balls, World Class Particle Pearl and Rogue Cell and I did not get back the reaction that I was expecting.

The rejuvenator didnt help my Rogue Cell much either but I have had other balls that it worked great for.

I noticed the same thing with the Hook Again system.....worked good for some balls/brands but doesn't do much for others.

What about the original Mission....has anyone had any problems reviving it if needed?

I have had mine for several months and have used it for a lot of games.  Almost all the games I have bowled since December.  Seen some lose of reaction recently.  Sanded it up and did a hot water bath to it today.  There was a lot of oil in the water after I took it out.  Threw it a couple of times tonight.  Seems to be back to it's original state.

Thanks for the Information. I've only had mind for approx 6 weeks now and it probably has around  35 games and maybe 40 max so far and is still performing great so far. I love this Mission as it is so versatile and hard hitting. Creates great pin mix. My strike percentage has gone up with this Mission. It is one of the best balls I have had in a long time. I bought a Game On a couple weeks behind the Mission and it has performed great also and is a good compliment to the Mission for a 2 ball arsenal on THS.

This is the kind of post that Ballreviews was made for, not the childish crap that takes up 80% of the space on here. Thanks for the info!

Sorry I have been out of town for a couple of days driving in my car (total of 900 miles since Wed 700 yesterday).  To answer the question on the original Mission yes I have run mine through the rejuvenator many times.  It always helps. If you have never done the Original then I would suggest taking it to 1000 Abralon or even 500 Abralon before sticking it in a rejuvenator then I would just put the original surface back on it.  If you are not familiar with this process then I would just ask your local proshop to do it.
