I''ve had this ball for almost two weeks, and figured I''d finally post a blurb about it. DISCLAIMER!!!! Every ball I drill goes through a resurfacing machine to make sure the surface is exactly as it is intended.
I heard about this ball when it was announce and was honestly a little skeptic. I figured, "How different could it be from the Game Plan?" I knew it had a stronger cover, but if you remember back to the NV series of balls, the TraXion covers were given a numerical rating (.030, .039, .045, and .048) which described how much texture the guys at R&D chemically put into the coverstock. To me, TraXion Reactive .042 didn''t sound much different than TraXion .039. I drilled this ball a little different, this time 4 7/8" from PAP, 60*25 dual angle.
I went out and threw it, and the first thing I noticed was how much this ball continued off of friction. The competitive league I bowl in is second shift, half of the league follows a mixed league and the other half a men''s league. With our heavy volume of oil, which league you follow will make a big impact on your scores for the night. This night I was in the lower end of the building, following the mixed league, and plastic balls create a lot of early hook and a lot of oil down-lane. During practice, my Mission 2.0 and Vital Sign burned up quickly and I was in the 4 pin/10 pin zone. I decided to throw the Game On so it would get through a little cleaner and save more for the back. I stood in the same spot where my Vital Sign was weak 10ing, and it worked great and on the slop I was bowling on.
I was very pleased, but I had to compare it to a Game Plan. I drilled a fresh one up with the same specs and layout, and went out and threw it. For me, the Game Plan was a superb control ball. It rolled heavy between 30-40 feet and had a smooth arc to the pocket. The Game On, conversely, made the same strong roll in the mids, but made a much stronger move down the lane. This bigger move in the back forced me to play the lanes about 6 boards in with my feet compared to my Game Plan.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I''ve always loved symmetrical cores, and this ball fills the game between the Vital Sign and Game Plan perfectly. Don''t miss out on this one, it will pleasantly surprise you!
