Gamebreaker vs. Anger or Black Widow
« on: October 28, 2007, 06:21:09 AM »
I am looking for something in my arsenal that I can move inside on the lane and keep the carry percentage high.  I am currently using a Beat'n, No Mercy, and a Blue Vibe but want something that I can move deeper and slap out the seven pins.  I like the reviews I have seen on the Gamebreaker, and being a low RG ball it seems to make sense for what I want.  But, I have also heard good things about the Anger and the Black Widow so I was hoping some of you guys who have thrown some of this stuff could give me some helpful advice.  I like balls that have a strong continuos hook but not too much skid/snap, because it just does not fit my game that well.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!!

MainePBA: Then the Gamebreaker is your ticket. I have the Black Widow and Gamebreaker, and I've found that the Gamebreaker has that continuous look and handles speed changes, hand release changes and line changes very well. I've been able to use the ball well on PBA patterns like Chameleon, Viper and Shark (playing  inside out on Chameleon, straighter with the Viper and Shark) and on most house patterns I've been able to play as deep as I wish (sometimes in between 4th and 5th arrow) out to 7-8 and still have the ball continue through without weak hit or loss of energy.

Haven't heard too many people complain about this ball around my area- and I just shot my 3rd 300 with this ball in a local tournament today so you can tell I like it.

MAtt,

Remember you are a stroker and he is a Power Tweener. What you can use well MAY NOT be what he can use for the same situation!!! Danger, Will Robinson!! (Quoting Randy Pedersen here. )

I'd suggest the Toxic or the Black Widow Pearl for a lighter deep inside flip shot and the Black Widow for a deeper slightly heavier oil pattern, also deep inside.

The Gamebreaker is far to oearly and even rolling a ball for a deep inside shot, even with polish and a flip drill.

Thanks for the responses guys!  I am sorry if I did not clairfy what pattern I was looking for, but it is going to be for the PBA type shots and some of the longer oil NEBA tournaments in the northeast.  Charlest you hit it on the head with me being a power tweener, as I am most comfortable when I can lay the ball down between 13-17, and swing to about 7-8.  I have shot a few low rg balls in the past (i.e. Buzzsaw LRG) and had decent success, I am just torn between the Gamebreaker, Anger, or BW to fill the heavy oil "carry" problem I currently have.  Thanks for the help, and I will check back tomorrow and let you know what I decide!!!

Charlest: Then I guess thanks to the help of my bowling coach, I may be entering the Power Tweener category moreso than pure stroker. I tend to find the line that MainePBA is talking about the best line for the Gamebreaker, as with this modern equipment truly playing down and in has been non-existent for me unless I'm bowling on PBA shots...
