help me please i'm lost!
« on: January 26, 2008, 02:02:19 PM »
i have been out of the bowling loop for a while. it has been about 13 years. the last ball i bought was a nitro. i have been a big fan of ebonite's products for ever. all bowling balls i have ever had have been made by them. i just wanted to get some feed back on good bowling balls out now. i throw 3rd dot 2nd arrow. not a crazy hook. i have always struggled on oily lanes. by the time i'm done moving around i am throwing the straight ball. i'm looking for a ball that works well in oil and isn't too out of control. if i could get some feedback that would be great!

Raid is a good oil ball from Ebonite.

a lot of ppl seem to like the total nv, but i dont see what all the hype is about.  if you are open to other companies. the cell is good from roto-grip.  the levrg from morich. the momentum from columbia.

A lot has changed in 13 years.  I'd recommend a ball that is smooth, controllable, versatile, but strong.  If you want Ebonite, the Gamebreaker should be exactly what you need.

My first thoughts as I read this .. have you been bowling lately? You talk about struggling on oil ..a lot has changed in 13 years. Not many houses (centers) put down a LOT OF OIL like they did years ago. It might be that you'll go out for an OIL ball that will be RARELY used. Suggest you get familiar with the lanes before you look for a ball!

I would suggest a Gamebreaker as a nice starter ball...handles oil and also is not too sensitive.

MY 2 cents:

Big One... can play in oil and polished can be use in lighter oil conditions.
And mostly around the area you are talking about.
