How much hook is the Raid?

My wife is getting a new ball soon, and has never thrown Ebonite equipment.  She has always been a big fan of Track balls, but was leary of trying them now that Ebonite makes them.  I suggested to just try an Ebonite since they make Track anyway and see how she likes them.  She was looking for a strong ball that she can send out with a little room (she's left handed), but not an out of control flip....she tends to like smoother rolling balls better.  She has a MoRich Awesome Finish, and a Track Robo Rule, and she's kind of looking for something in between those two.  We thought the Raid might be a good fit, deciding that one slightly over an NVS.  The GameBreaker looks like a fantastic ball, but I'm afraid maybe it won't be enough hook for what she's looking for.  Thanks everyone.

If I am not mistaken the Gamebreaker will hook more than the raid. The Ebonite guys will help I am sure.

The Gamebreaker, if anything, would be too much hook to put in that spot, but certainly not too little.

Yeap, the Gamebreaker is earlier and continuous. Whereas the Raid, gets down the lane longer before it breaks.

The gamebreaker will definately be more than the other two out of box due to the lower oob finish.  When you say that your wife likes smoother equipment the raid/sr line immediately comes to mind.  It uses the coverstock technology of the high end one series, but with smoother rolling core designs.  

Yet I personally would consider the Awesome Finish to be a more angular ball that really gets off the spot, which is odd.  If your looking for something to be stronger than the awesome finish, none of the balls in the raid/sr line really hook that much.  I'd tend to look at the nv's with some added surface, or perhaps the big one/infinite one.

Interesting.  I was basing my information off the Ebonite website where they have the GameBreaker listed with a hook rating of 37, and the Raid with a hook rating of 41.  Maybe Ebonite is trying to give the impression of a more expensive ball means more hook.  I also do see though, that the GameBreaker has a lower RG so it will be earlier and smoother, and they have the same differential, so on numbers, it easily sounds like the GameBreaker could be plenty of ball, as well as Bowlers Journals high hook rating for it in their review.  Take a few more days of considering, then I'll give my pro shop a call.  Good problem to have, they both seem like excellent balls.

or you could just wait on the Temper to come out in a few weeks, it would fit in between those quite nicely, and Carl stated that its a benchmark type ball with a strong arc and not flippy

My Son and I went to an Ebonite Demo Days last Saturday. We rolled all the new balls in Ebo’s lineup. Personally of all the balls, I was most impressed with the Raid. Condition was medium light oil 38 feet, not fresh but very playable. I played 25 to 10, ball turned hard but controllable and the hit was exceptional. The other balls I rolled forced me to deep on the approach and required an inordinate amount of speed to make it to the break point. Obviously the oil pattern had a major influence on playability of the other balls but from the results I got and the conditions I normally bowl on the Raid is a must have ball for me.

My Son was most impressed with the NVS but his ball speed is significantly higher than mine and he is a tournament bowler. Also he being left handed the shot was not as chewed up. He could play up the track line or swing it. I was forced to play deeper than I prefer and the Raid made me look like I belonged there.

I can just feel that on our normal house shot, fresh medium oil usually around 38 feet with clean back ends this ball is going to be sweet.
