Title: Girlfriend needs a new ball
Post by: crusher267658 on November 23, 2011, 06:22:58 PM
I have finally convinced my girl to get a new ball. She has a beat up Complete NV. She likes Ebonite. Looking to get her a new ball for Christmas. I haven't kept up much with equipment over the past couple months. Trying to keep myself from buying anymore unneeded equipment, lol. She wants something similar to her NV but something with a bit more backend and overall hook. First thing I thought of was a Signal. Shes a stroker with moderate speed (insert smart comments here). We bowl on wood lanes most of the time with a medium volume 43ft THS. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I am liking my Elevate almost as much as my Signals. If you are on a lower budget, you can't go wrong
with a Cyclone. The three colors are nice as well.
Let us know what you decide.

Not an EBI fan but I would go with the Mission Domination, should be able to catch a good deal on one, or an x-out.

My wife was not liking her Virtual Gravity, couldn't get the right surface on it, so I sold it and got her a slightly used Original Mission for $55 shipped on eBay. Great ball and very smooth.  I think the Domination would be a good choice too.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the cover on the CNV is stronger than that on the Cyclone.
If she want a bit more pop look into the vital energy.  The CNV inherently was a longish ball with a good hook at the backend.  Which was the vital energy is also.  You can adjust with the surface as you bowl

hope to have helped.

+1 on the Vital Energy.  It's very clean up front, has nice length with a defined breakpoint.  I love the backend motion and it's very predictable from shot to shot.  Also, it's really versatile whether you like to play up the boards or wheel it.  Absolutely the best ball in my bag right now.

The Elevate has similar RG and Differential specs with the CNV, but a different shell. The new Warning Sign might be a good choice, too. Check around and see if there are any upcoming Ebonite demos in your area so that you can have her test them out herself.
