Ebonite Riptide

Does anyone use or have a Ebonite Riptide. How do you feel about it? I know it was one of ebonite's first particle balls. I have a riptide and it seems to works well.

Bowling center managers didn't tend to care for that ball as it would chew up the lanes. I think this particlular particle ball would have traction on ice. Along with the Tombstone, wasn't a big seller for Ebonite.

Had one for awhile. Would do one of two things. Hook in my backswing, puke, and back up the entire length of the lane, or with a slight amount of polish, skid all the way to the kickback.

I bet the "Pro Reactive Resin" balls are ones Ebonite would like to forget.

I had two of these balls. This ball was a dead roll. I liked it personally

The other day in our league I bowled with my Riptide. I usually only bowl around 100 which isn't much. Got a 108 first game and a 148 the 2nd. 2nd game I was able to get some spares and strikes towards then end of the game. I don't know if I play good with this ball but i'm able to get around a 12 or 13 MPH ball speed.

I had another ball I was using but it was a 15 1/2 pound ball. I figure my other ball was a little heavy. With my 15lb Riptide its light enough I can get a good follow through and throw the ball hard enough. I made some adjustments throwing from the far right even though I'm a Lefty. Seemed to work for me with my Riptide.
