Cross Fire balance hole ?
« on: January 11, 2006, 01:47:20 AM »
I drilled a Cross Fire pin under the ring finger and cg middle of palm and I hoped to use the ball for light oil.  When the ball gets to the dry, the ball is very angular, too much actually for the shot I'm having to play (outside taken away with a lot of oil)swing about 17 out to 13.

My question is if I drill a balance hole on my PAP will I tame the ball reaction down and if so will the ball still carry well?

Thank you.

Nic, holes on pap (best of my knowledge) do tame the ball down a bit....they do this by starting the ball a bit earlier.  Now...will that take away carry? probably not.....but....it may take away a little angle...

Always make a surface adjustment first before you add a hole.  You'll notice a change better with a surface adjustment than a small axis hole(with the C.G in palm you can't reduce that much sideweight).  Try a 1000 grit sanding and apply Track's Clean N Smooth or try 4000 grit abralon first then see how much it tames down the backend.
