Hi everyone, I was looking on ebay the last few days and saw two blue nitro's for sale, one by its self and one in a 4 ball package. The one by its self has a black pin, where as the ball in the 4 ball package has a green pin. I have looked at the core of this ball and it has a thick urethane cover with a light bulb shaped core in it. Now did ebonite make two different blue nitro's or did they make the blue nitro with two different colored pins? I just bid on the nitro with the black pin and wanted to make sure it was the one that I looked at with the thick urethane cover and light bulb shaped core, please let me know thanks
Here is the two links to the two balls---->http://sporting-goods.search.ebay.com/ebonite_Balls------> http://sporting-goods.search.ebay.com/ebonite_Balls
scroll down until you find both balls

Be aware that there is a version of the Blue Nitro that are sold through sporting goods outlets that is just a plain pancake core ball. I'm thinking that the green pin one should be the lightbulb core one from back in the day but I am not 100% sure.

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I can ask the guy on ebay who is selling it to see if he knows

hello
if I remember correctly there are 3 different colored pins for this ball..one is a reddish/orange colored pin that are sold in the stores like target, walmart, etcc(this ball is the one with the pancake weight block in them).. the second pin is a flourescent green color, these were sold in the pro shops.. and the third pin is dark blue clear(Idont think it was black but clear dark blue)it was for the touring players..

Ok, thanks, that helped a lot slash
Thats what I was thinking about the store bought nitro with it being a redish orange. So with you saying that the third one you listed was for the touring players, does it still have the light bulb shaped core in it?

Plus the sporting goods Nitro says it's a dark blue polyurethane pearl! The original Nitro was a solid urethane. Just my $.02, Bruce

As back in the day I used to carry 4 blue and the purple the early production blue ones had the dark pin and were the same ball as the green pin. The purple was the nuts for dry lanes :-)

Thanks everyone for your replies, I really appreciate it

Well, I just bought a 15.9 pound blue nitro off from ebay and the guy had it resurfaced and it looks good, but it only has like a 1 1/2 inch pin on it, I already have a storm flame urethane(1 1/4 inch pin) drilled pin close to my ring and a hole close to my pap and it roles real smooth, what would you guys suggest as far as a drill on it, my stats are in profile

I've got a used one I bought, with a black pin at about 1", that was used in regional competition. I'm thinking that most of them must have had short pins. Nice ball on drier conditions, but I don't carry it much anymore.
