Ball Suggestion
« on: February 25, 2007, 02:12:47 PM »
I need a ball for dry lanes, now i'm talking DRY, sorta like a desert. I was thinking a Tornado, anyone else got any suggestions. AND no I will not throw my spare ball. Also suggest a layout for me, my axis cordinates are 4 1/2 by 1 1/2 up. I already have a Black Ice (pin under ring) and Crossfire (pin over middle. I'd prefer an Ebonite ball, thus the reason I put it in the Ebonite forum, but I am open to suggestions.

Not sure about the ball but my pro-shop guy recommended a drill pattern to me that takes your balls reaction and makes it smooth and weak in conditions like yours. I am total high revs so a layout like this might work well for you. I have no idea on specifics other than the reaction he told me i could expect. But who needs a ball like that?!?!?!

I know its not Ebonite, but I use a Power Groove Dry R and it works great. When the lanes are not that dry I can use it for a spare ball for shooting single pins.

For dry --

Roto Grip Neptune (low differential core wrapped in a nice pearl cover, great hit too)

or for really dry --

Visionary Slate Blue Gargoyle

Lane#1 XXXL my recommandation!

The ball is plastic for real dry but with a good core you can be drilled in different ways...

I play it and it works...

Other balls I cannot suggest..

And why am I writting in an Ebonite forum?

Cause I playen a "tornado warning" and the ball will hook... but it has less hit'n'carry than the XXXL...

Tornado, Neptune, Desert Heat, Lane#1XXXL. One of those will work.
