How does this sound for an Angular One?
« on: July 01, 2007, 08:09:46 AM »
I think I'm going to buy myself an Angular.  What wdo you think about this:  4" pin; 4 1/2" pin to PAP; MB at 70 degrees.  Does anyone have anything like this?  How did it play out?  Would this be considered a strong drilling?  Will this become too squirty?   Would this layout prove skid/snap?  What conditions would it be able to play on?  Might there be any other things I should know?

I am speed dominant.

Mine isent drilled like this, but my brothers is. On a 39 ft. THS, his ball goes about 45 feet and takes a hard left turn. And when I say hard I mean HARD! He throws the ball about 20 mph and he rolls over 17 at the arows and he throws it out to 7-5 area at the break point, that balls hits hard to covering that many boards. When the lanes break down, he just moves deeper and just keeps it tighter. The only thing I have seen with his and my Angulars is the want squeaky clean backends, otherwise the either hit flat or skid past the breakpoint. Also I've been able to play with my angular on the shark to start when the backends are clean. Mine has the pin under the bridge and the cg kicked out a little bit. With slower speed, this ball works for the first 3 games or so then i've had to switch to a dull ball. Hope this helps!

Wow.  Thank you guys!  This ball should be able to play the big hook too, right?

One more thing:

My drilling is 4.25 by 70 degrees
does this mean pin to PAP = 4 1/2, and the MB is at 70 degrees?

Thanks again, I'm sure I'll love it!  It might be a while; I don't just want to rush out and buy a new ball for myself until the fall, really.
