If you had a Crush/R,..............
« on: March 08, 2010, 11:01:03 AM »
where would it fit today?

A friend of mine brought me a fully plugged, single drilled, Crush/R in almost perfect condition. It is a pin-in ball with decent topweight.

 Anybody remember this one?

Ummmm the R would stand for reactive and it had a pear weight block. However on todays conditions it's not going to hook to much maybe when the lanes are really dried out you could use it.

I had a Crush/R and hated it. It and the Brunswick Teal came out about the same time. The pro shop suggested the Brunswick Teal over the Crush/R, but I didn't listen and that was a mistake as all others that bought the Teal loved it. I threw a friends and loved it also. My Crush/R didn't come close to performing as well as the Brunswick Teal did.

This is it in the listing. I posted the pics, but had to "create" the weightblock picture which isn't perfect, but it'll have to do until I find an actual one.

If I remember correctly it was also one of the first balls that ebonite started using filler material.  Up until then two piece balls had thick covers and cores no filler.

I remember when it came out I thought it was a pretty good piece

In todays world it would be weaker than just about anything out there right now except like a tornado, tropical storm etc.

I still use an original purple rhino pro for when the lanes dry out or late tournament blocks

it will still work just fine if you use it on the right conditions

I remember that was one of the first reactive balls I bought. It would be pretty weak by todays standards...possibly usable as a spare/really dry lane ball....
After I retired mine, it sat in the closet until it got a 1/16" wide crack around the entire circumference of the ball. My buddy and I got drunk one time and tried to actually break the shell in half and see what the core looked like. Couldn't get it apart so we took it outside and bowled up and down my side street. It's not in very good shape any more...could use a resurface...lol.
