Title: I just ordered my first Ebonite ball...
Post by: mumzie on August 27, 2008, 09:36:21 AM
I just ordered the first Ebonite ball since I used my mothers rubber Ebonite Tornado!

I ordered a Clash - I should get it early next week.
Can't wait!

Which clash?

Either way you can't go wrong, I shot my only 800 with the older yellow/blue one, and I have recently punched up 2 of the blue/turquoise.  Both excellent pieces!

...and while I have never had a problem with any ebonite coverstock, you can be guaranteed that the shell on the clash will give you no problems.

I'm really looking forward to it. I am having Dave Husted drill it up for me - he thought it would be a good match of my speed (not much) and hand (more than I need for my speed).

I just bought my first Ebonite ball (Playmaker) since the days of the V2 Pearl and like it so far. For whatever reason, it seems to really hit really hard for a 14# ball. I don't know if it is the energy is stores or what it is, all I know is that it hits hard and carries well.

Brick,

The Playmaker seems to store tons of energy.

My first Ebonite ball in many years (before this the last Ebonite was a Gyro I) was The One.  Since then I have drilled other Ebonite balls and have very happy with them.

Well, I got it. And I threw a few. Unfortunately, it was on a house shot, after a whole bunch of open play - I couldn't get a good read off the condition. (me, not the condition...)
Anyway - the few times I did see some real finish, I liked it. Tomorrow (first night of scratch league) will tell...
