Initial impressions on the Mission
« on: April 11, 2010, 06:49:28 AM »
So i've got about 10 games on this piece and really like what i'm seeing. The ball is very strong for a pearl and has great downlane continuation, its midlane really makes it different than most of the pearl balls i've used before.

I went with a 55x4-1/4x40 layout on it and have it at box finish. Compared to my Onyx Vibe its a good 6 boards at the arrows deeper on the THS at an oily house (using the same breakpoint) and locally on a higher friction surface the difference is even larger.

I'll comeback with a full review/update with video later on but I have to say i'm impressed with what I've seen out of mine as well as the one my buddy just got.

I have about 60 games on my Mission and it continues to perform for me!  I used my Mission and my L#1 Buzzbomb/R in the Central Maryland Association tournament yesterday and shot 2196 scratch to lead All Events scratch by 150 pins (with only one day left in the tournament).  I was able to get in deeper than the other lefties bowling with me and had great carry with the ball...I had a high game of 290 and shot sets on 767, 704, and 725 in Team, Singles and Doubles.

The Mission is a very neat bowling ball.  I love the fact that this ball is so clean through the heads but you can see it read the lane and get into a great roll by the time it hits the pins.

The one thing I've noticed for this piece is it has a tendency to skid well past the break point if you throw it a bit too fast.  That may be a just n00dlejester thing, but that's what I see when I get fast with my game.

For me the harder I throw it the more it hooks, especially on the back end...maybe because I am unconsciously putting more hand in the ball at the same time?
