I was impressed with the Big Time Pearl...Smash Time?
« on: December 28, 2006, 04:17:55 AM »
The big Time pearl was an undersold but big time scoring hit in our area!

Now the Smashtime and Whirlwind seem to be travelling the same path!

For those who have used both...Smashtime and Big Time Pearl(Jeff Ussery?)...could you give me a quick comparison??

Ooops did my research through Jeff Ussery's reviews...it wasn't hard work but worthwhile.

Thanks Jeff!

I know a few staffers that love the smash time pearl, i had the big time pearl and the smash time in the past. I did not care for the rolliness of the smash time, sold it to a newbie for learning hook he thanks me all the time for selling to him cheap. Big Time Pearl for me was an ok ball not quite the backend i was hoping for out of it.

The staffer with Smash Time Pearl says it is money, uses it and a no limit with great success.

Hey Lefty,

Glad you're liking the reviews!  I would post it here on ballreviews, but the SmashTime Pearl is not up yet.

The Big Time Pearl gives me an incredible amount of backend movement in a very short of amount of bowling lane.  Due to the SmashTime Pearl's core shape, I tend to get a little more of arc shape out of it, compared to the Big Time Pearl.

Length between the two balls is very comparable.  Both seem to get through the front of the lane with ease.

The one thing that I am REALLY noticing with the SmashTime Pearl is the way the ball reads the lane pattern.  It doesn't seem to squirt in heavier oil like most pearlized reactive balls.  If you check the videos I did again, you'll see how the SmashTime Pearl seems to read the lane pattern early enough to give a strong but controlled backend move.  The way it reads the lane is exactly what my Big Time Pearl doesn't do.  Without the proper friction matchup for my Big Time Pearl, it will definitely scoot past the breakpoint easily.

Hope this helps you out!  Check the videos again at www.putfile.com/jeffussery for more demos!

Thanks for the great info...All.

Our centers with very miniscule amounts of oil(from Iran) in the midlanes seemed to really like the Big Time Pearl.

Another place around here with a 40 foot run seems to like the Smash Time and Smash Time pearl.
