Ice
« on: July 03, 2004, 09:00:26 PM »
This ball appears to be a great value.  Trimax reactive resin and the stinger low flare core should be a great match up.  Makes me think it will be a great bench mark ball, like the pulse.  Smooth cover with a smooth rolling core.  Pick up a Player on closeout and an ice and you should have a great 1-2 punch.

I have never thrown Ebonite even though they make great balls.  I hear the covers are thin, they crack easily and die early.  I was wondering what the trimax reactive cover life span was and if these rumors are true even for a great ball like the v2 sanded.

I've seen a few Ebonite Staffers use the ICE and it is suprisingly violent out of the dry boards in comparision with it's cousin(the Stinger Low Flare)

What's the difference between the MegaBite and MegaBite RF coverstocks of the Stinger purple pearl vs. the Trimax coverstocks of the Fire and Ice? Are the Trimax coverstocks better, "grippier", more skid/flip, more versatile, etc.?

Would the different coverstocks make for a very different ball reaction for the new Fire/Ice combo, or would the weight blocks pretty much ensure that they would react the same way as the Stingers?

Are there any Ebonite people out there who can answer the question I posted above?

I have an Ice and this ball really moves once it hits the dry. The hit is good too. If you want skid/flip and you have a dry area to work with, this is an excellent choice.
