Ice- Anyone thrown it?
« on: September 24, 2004, 08:32:58 AM »
Thinking about this ball. I need a skid flip for when the heads break down. Theres usually very little carrydown, unless someone is throwing urethane or plastic.

What's this thing do?  Can you compare it to other balls that you may have thrown?

same core as a stinger low flare.....so skid flip, i dont think so, i believe the stinger is more of a control ball

look for a pearl vicious, or a pearl silver streak....if you want skid flip(to the extreme) for fried heads

ebonite wise....the dominator(label leverage, stroker) is major skid flip for me as is my illusion(label leverage, stroker) but weaker than my dominator(which is why i like the illusion and hate the dominator, dominator = major over under for me)

the fire doesnt look skid flip to me,  my teammate(avg230s at diff houses) has thrown one(label leverage lefty) and it goes long(in the dirt) and arcs(doesnt really jump) to the pocket BUT has WEAK carry(5 pins) EDIT: when there is carry down(duh).

i have one drilled with 2 inch pin pin over middle and cg in palm andfor me its a great dry lane control ball i don't get much flip out of it at all.  but it is a reat ball for the price

I had an Ice drilled with pin over fingers and the cg negative. The ball went long and then arced hard. It covered more boards than I wanted. I'd say the Ice is fine for mediums but too strong for dry. It has too strong a cover and just plain hooks too early. The Ice is a nice ball , but it doesnt sound like what you are looking for.

The "Fire" is more skid/flip than the "Ice." Check stats.
