I think the problem is companies don't give their products enough time to sale. Last year for example, within a 6 month period just in the Columbia brand there was the World Beater, the Pure Physics and the Ransom Demand. Im no expert and will never claim to be, but those three balls can cover pretty much the same condition with drilling and surface tweaks. Don't take that as a shot at Columbia or EBI, it was just an example.
The problem with bowling balls is alot like computers now days, why buy ball x today when 2 weeks later that same company is gonna push ball z in our face that hooks more than ball x.
To me it seems that all the companies need to take a step back and put quality ahead of quantity again. I'd much rather buy a ball that has been researched and developed to death before it hits the market than one that has just been pushed out because the previous model was a flop. That seems to create the problem much more than solving it, imo.
All this along with all the floor level pricing makes it seem shady to some folks, when thats most likely not the intent of the manufacturer at all. If the customer feels taken advantage of, that makes the situation worse.
