Infinite One
« on: April 01, 2009, 05:51:24 PM »
Just picked up a single-drill Infinite One with 20 games on it from my pro shop.  I heard the ball is long and strong on the heavy oil.

I am a medium speed/revs stroker.  I like symmetrical balls for their predictability and smooth arc, and my pro shop knows how to drill them for me to get the reaction I want.  I expect this ball to fit in the top of my arsenal (see below) for heavy oil.  Just curious if people think it's a good fit.

Thanks

the Infinite One has a mass bias that needs to be taken into consideration when drilling. There were mixed results with this ball and how much oil it could handle depending on the bowler. I think alot of that had to due with the 500 grit sanded it came with. Alot of people didn't see as much reaction as they thought because that ball burned up more than poeple thought because that's a low grit level. I would take it up to 1000 grit unless you are truly bowling on a flood.

My infinite one is a true oil buster.  I drilled it 4 1/2 x 60 degrees pin up with a hole.  Its oob at 500 and I rarely get to use it.  Most of the time is the ball I throw in practice of match play to burn up the outside so I can get left with weaker/more angular balls.  Sometimes I can use on the fresh oil but they have to be flooded.  I'm sure a surface change would make it more versatile but I like it where it is.

Excellent oil ball.  The regional rep mentioned about the core being reversed so the ball would actually go a bit longer.. don't really recall it very well, but ask you pro shop so you get a good lay out

good luck
