Ebonite makes it seem like it is for Heavy Oil... but it's reactive (not particle). So how is it going to "dig" in through the oil??? Everybody knows that particle balls have "teeth" and dig into the lane better than a reactive. Want it just skid on top of the oil???

What's the deal???

It's not only the coverstock that makes a ball work well in heavy oil... High flaring balls will expose more fresh coverstock to the lane/oil creating friction and eventually hook. The X Factor Deuce is likely categorized as a heavy oil ball by Storm for that very reason. You may not be able to play gutter to gutter with it, but it will "dig" in at the appropriate time on the appropriate line.

I've seen the Killer Sanded in action on PBA Pattern A which is one of the more heavily oiled patterns and it plays very tight. The KI was the choice among a few bowlers and it did scribe a big arc on the lanes with an early read. I would categorize it as a heavy oil ball. Way better than the APEX line of junk. The TPC Player is a good choice for heavier volumes of oil too even though it is reactive. Nowadays companies are able to make Reactive Resin balls for heavy oil since the core technology has changed so much and gotten so much stronger. Nowadays core shape and density plays a much bigger part in reaction than it used to.

this ball is more of a medium to heavy it will squirt in a big puddle. The ball works great as long as you can find some dry.
