if its not the only other core that could compete would be the one core.

V2 Core is great.....probably best ever by Ebonite. All makers have cores that have been just flat out amazing. The cores could be great and the covers can be great but the true acheivement is when the companies match the 2 together that makes the balls special. The core and the cover have to match up.......
Fortunately for Ebonite, the V2 core has matched up very well to just about every cover in which it was used.
The only other core by Ebonite I have liked is the one used in the original Black and Silver Trimax Matrix....the old particle pearl.
BRING THAT BALL BACK SOMEDAY.....PLEASE!!!

I agree for the most part but the cover/core match on my playmaker is pretty condition specific for me.roll..roll..roll........SNAP!I was hopeing for less snap off the dry, looking for some ball death here.

The "snap" should mellow a bit after you get some games on the ball. Anyhow, mine did.

knocked it down with 2k abralon, that should tame the snap.I figure once the cover tames down I'll polish it up and see.BTW I do love the roll part.

Maybe it's the house I bowl in, but mine's not snappy at all.
I have mine pin under ring finger with cg kicked out which put's it at a 5x3 drill for me (just like my V2 sanded)..

I love the way it reserves all of it's energy for the back-end. I've never had a ball reserve as much energy for the back-end as the Playmaker does.

to be honest,it just needs a cover tweak in the right direction for me,other then that I see great potential in my playmaker.I can roll the thing out 20 feet from the pocket and it still has plenty of kick to carry.plus the read you get off this ball is fantastic, looking forward to trying it out @ 2K tonight.most of the Ebonite covers have been kinda extreme for me but I wanted to give the V2 a try.

well I tried the playmaker @ 2000 abralon during warm up tonight and I liked it but decided I'm taking this ball in the wrong direction.I'm going to bring the cover up as far as I can in hope that I can use it in place of my intense.even though my PM snaps as hard as my intense it's not as angular so I have to square up with it more.pics are in my profile for who is interested.

It's either the surface you have on the ball or the layout.....maybe it is just the wrong ball for the condition. Either way, keep playing with the PLAYMAKER....the bowlers who use it in my home center love it!!!
I don't have one as of yet but it could quite possibly be my next new piece.

Ditto for where I bowl also.

most of it is just ME,and a little bit of the layout.I'll keep it in the bag for awhile and see if I can find a use for it.

Six,
Might want to take it back to factory OOB and then add some Powerhouse Extender polish to smooth out that snap. Or try at 4000 grit sanded first. Just a thought.

did some more tweaking and found something I REALLY like.knocked the PM down to 1000 and brought back up to a worn 4000 pad.then I hit it twice on the spinner at high speed with 3M superduty and 2 more times with Finesse-itII.on a med blend shot I played the 20 to 5 line and the ball was very smooth and powerfull and I was able to control the pocket very well with the early read and smooth backend,FANTASTIC reaction from this piece.exactly the reaction I was looking for from a med oil ball that I can square up with instead of moving in deep and having a unpredictable break point.
